Take Delight in Honoring One Another-Romans 12:10

“Love each other with genuine affection and take delight in honoring each other.”  Romans 12:10

This verse was highlighted in my life this past week on our mission trip with Awestar to Piedras Negras.  It became a phrase for our day to “Honor One Another”….to go out of our way to encourage and speak into the lives of others on our team.  This particular day, it gave me great opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus by encouraging my fellow team mates.  What I observed was the lighting up of a life who may have had a difficult day or who had never been encouraged by simple words of affirmation.

My family and I were on the receiving end of this verse this past Sunday as my church, Foundation Church, celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Foundation Church.  Our family was incredibly humbled by the kind words and gifts.  Foundation Church, it is because of you, the people, why we do what we do in addition to being called by God to be a missionary to this church!  The words of affirmation was a simple reminder that what we have done has made a difference and that what we do is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).  THANK YOU FOUNDATION CHURCH!

As a way to continue this duty, I am going to highlight and honor those throughout the year people who have had a profound impact on my life as a way to honor and encourage them!  I am thankful for the MANY people through my life who have mentored me, challenged me, and equipped me throughout my life.

As you read these “Honor One Another” blogs, it may inspire you to speak into the lives of those who have invested in you!  If you could say to those who have had an impact in your life, what would you say?
